Helpful Custom Order Info

Some of our work ends up being custom order work between our team and our fans looking for something we don't have. We have created this page to hopefully make custom orders easy breezy!

Before we begin custom order work we require some information. We will need to know:

-colors (example: rainbow)

-item (example: short sleeve tee)
-size (example: adult medium)
-design (example: spiral)

Sometimes it's hard to make a choice about what you'd like when you don't know all of the choices available so read on and we will go more in depth about what we can do!

Colors

We can create almost any color (after a few test tries) besides neon colors. We generally use color charts to help us figure out what hue someone wants. This means that if someone comes to us saying they'd like a blue and yellow tie dye we will send them a chart of blues and a chart of yellows. There are SO many different blues out there that it's hard to understand which shade without a reference and sometimes references are hard to find so these color charts work out perfectly!

Use these color charts when letting us know what colors you are interested in:

Because our tie dye uses liquid dyes we may end up with mixing of colors that create additional colors however we will always tell you ahead of time if the colors you are interested in create unintended tones and tips on how to work around them. For example, mixing yellows and purples may create some browns. To minimize that chance, we recommend tie dyeing in ways that will leave some white to act as a barrier between yellow and purple. We can also add a color (let's say Blue for this example!) to transition from one color to the other without creating brown.

Items/Sizes

Right now we have many items within our shop and we are constantly adding. If you want a complete list, we recommend going to look at our shop sections. All of our available items will be listed there under the sections.

Find an item you'd like in a custom order and then click on it. Then scroll through the pictures to find the size charts. These charts will help you figure out what size you will need within our items. The chart is based off the items being dyed, washed, and dried one time so they account for any shrinkage that may occur!

Design

On most items, we can do the following designs:

-Spiral

-Crinkle

-Galaxy Swirl

There are still some exceptions in these designs on how we place color but they are the most versatile for all of our designs.

All of our other designs besides Spiral, Crinkle, and Galaxy Swirl require specific circumstances to be met.

It may seem like a LOT of information however we recommend first settling on a design you like.

First up, our spiral!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Spiral spun right, 2. Spiral spun left, 3. Spiral with each color having it's own section, 4. Spiral with two colors throughout.

The 1st Spiral is spun right, 2nd Spiral is spun left, 3rd Spiral has each color having it's own section, and 4th Spiral with two colors throughout.

Spirals work best for all projects however the 4th style requires thinner material to work properly! For hoodies, sweaters, and other items we have that are on the thick side we'd recommend the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

Our second design is Crinkle! It's also know as crumple and scattered.
Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Crinkle using two colors scattered throughout, 2. Crinkle using colors gradient from one to another, 3. Crinkle with colors blocked off in sections, 4. Crinkle with rainbow in the center and two other colors throughout the whole shirt.

The 1st Crinkle uses two colors scattered throughout, 2nd Crinkle uses colors that gradient from one to another, 3rd Crinkle uses colors that are blocked off in sections, 4th Crinkle uses a rainbow in the center and two other colors throughout the whole shirt.

Crinkles also work best on all projects! The 1st one requires thinner material, however we can modify it where it will work on thicker material by placing the dye slightly different.

Our 3rd design is Galaxy Swirl!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Galaxy Swirl with the swirl one color and the background a different color, 2. Galaxy Swirl with the swirl one color, another color ringing the swirl, and the background a mix of two colors, 3. Galaxy Swirl with one color used with another color for slight accent, 4. Galaxy Swirl with two colors use throughout the whole design.

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 5. Galaxy Swirl with rainbow swirl and single color background with accents all throughout, 6. Galaxy Swirl with two colors used throughout along with one color to provide slight accents, 7. Galaxy Swirl with colors split into sections, 8. Galaxy Swirl with colors gradient from one to another with black throughout.

Our Galaxy Swirl has many outcomes! Let's discuss them! Our 1st Galaxy Swirl has the swirl one color and the background a different color, 2nd Galaxy Swirl has the swirl one color, another color ringing the swirl, and the background a mix of two colors, 3rd Galaxy Swirl has one color used with another color for slight accent, 4th Galaxy Swirl has two colors use throughout the whole design.

Our 5th Galaxy Swirl has a rainbow swirl and single color background with accents all throughout, 6th Galaxy Swirl has two colors used throughout along with one color to provide slight accents, 7th Galaxy Swirl has the colors split into sections, 8th Galaxy Swirl has colors gradient from one to another with black throughout.

The Galaxy Swirl is another perfect design for all of our items! The 4th, 6th, and 8th can be modified to work on thicker material.

Another design we have is our double spiral.

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Double Spiral that has two spirals diagonal from each other with the top half of the shirt a different color than the bottom half while accents of each color peek through each side, 2. Double Spiral with one color used with black accents here and there, 3. Double spiral with two colors used in four sections.

1st Double Spiral has the top half of the shirt a different color than the bottom half while accents of each color peek through each side, 2nd Double Spiral has one color used with black accents here and there, 3rd Double spiral has two colors used in four sections.

These work perfect for thinner material! We don't recommend this design for anything that has thicker material.

Next up is our Sunburst design!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Sunburst using one color for the bursts and several colors ringing them, 2. Sunburst using different colors for each burst, 3. Sunburst using one color for the bursts and another color for the background, 4. Sunburst using one color throughout the whole shirt with a darker color for accents.

The 1st Sunburst uses one color for the bursts and several colors ringing them, 2nd Sunburst uses different colors for each burst, 3rd Sunburst uses one color for the bursts and another color for the background, 4th Sunburst uses one color throughout the whole shirt with a darker color for accents.

The sunburst is perfect for thinner material! It doesn't work quite as well with thicker material. We usually modify our crinkle design to produce a similar outcome to this for our items with thicker materials.

Here is our Shibori design!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Shibori using 2 colors that alternate vertically while diagonal, 2. Shibori using one color for the base and another color to create accents, 3. Shibori using rainbow alternating horizontally and another color for accent.

1st Shibori uses 2 colors that alternate vertically while diagonal, 2nd Shibori uses one color for the base and another color to create accents, 3rd Shibori uses rainbow alternating horizontally and another color for accent.

Shibori design the way we do it requires thin material. We aren't able to do them on hoodies, sweaters, or anything with thick material.

Followed by our Fish Scales design!

1 Tie Dye Shirt. 1. Fish Scales with three colors used to create a scales look.

1st Fish Scales has three colors used to create a scales look. We are actually experimenting with other ways of tie dyeing this so we had to include the number system within it as well!

Fish scales work fabulously with thinner materials! They won't work at all for us with thicker material.

Then our lovely Heart designs!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Heart Bull's Eye with each ring a different color, 2. Heart Bull's Eye with two colors alternating back and forth, 3. Heart Crinkle with the heart one color and the background a crinkle pattern using one color for the base and another color to accent, 4. Heart Crinkle with the heart one color and then the crinkle background using different colors the further it gets away from the heart.

Set of Tie Dye Tees: 5. Heart Spiral with the heart one color and the spiral another color, 6. Heart spiral with the heart one color, a ring of another color around it, and the spiral with two colors.

1st Heart Bull's Eye has each ring a different color, 2nd Heart Bull's Eye has two colors alternating back and forth, 3rd Heart Crinkle has the heart one color and the background a crinkle pattern using one color for the base and another color to accent, 4th Heart Crinkle has the heart one color and then the crinkle background using different colors the further it gets away from the heart.

Moving onto the 5th Heart Spiral has the heart one color and the spiral another color, 6th Heart spiral has the heart one color, a ring of another color around it, and the spiral with two colors.

Because we form our hearts with actual folds, we are unable to reproduce our heart designs on thick items like our sweaters and hoodies, and super tiny items like baby onsies. We might be able to screenprint a heart one though. Message us for more info!

Then our Folded Stripes design!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Folded Stripes with 2 colors alternating, 2. Folded Stripes with rainbow colors used.

1st Folded Stripes has 2 colors alternating, 2nd Folded Stripes has rainbow colors used.

Because of how much folding this one has to do to create the design you see, we are not able to reproduce it on anything with thicker material or on tiny baby items.

Along with our Bull's Eyes design!

Set of Tie Dye Tees. 1. Bull's Eye with 2 colors of rings switching back and forth, 2. Bull's Eye with each ring a different color.

1st Bull's Eye has 2 colors of rings switching back and forth, 2nd Bull's Eye has  each ring a different color.

This is design works beautifully on thinner items, including baby items, however it doesn't allow the dye to saturate enough on thicker items so we don't recommend it for thicker materials like our hoodies and sweaters.

Finally, our Accordion Fold design!
Set of tie dye tee shirts. 1. Diagonal Accordion Fold, 2. Horizontal Accordion Fold, 3. Half Accordion Fold.

1st Diagonal Accordion Fold, 2nd Horizontal Accordion Fold, 3rd Half Accordion Fold.

This one is also one that uses a lot of intricate folding to produce how it looks therefore we don't recommend it on thicker items. We can modify it a bit on baby items however it comes out the best on our t shirts!

We hope all of this information makes conveying your custom orders to us but if not, let us know! We are a friendly bunch and look forward to creating something specifically for you!
